Tracy Parish is active internationally as a performer, educator and adjudicator, appearing in ensembles and as a soloist and lecturer at numerous universities and music festivals in the United States, Europe and Australia. Dr. Parish has performed in some of the world's premiere concert halls including Carnegie Hall in New York and Chicago's Symphony Center. Rapidly establishing himself as a well-known scholar, Tracy regularly publishes reviews, scholarly articles and most recently his new book, "The Late-Eighteenth Century Solo Concerto: Implications of Structure, Style, Aesthetics and Period Performance Practice" (VDM Verlag, late 2009). Dr. Parish is the recipient of regional and international performance prizes and has been recognized for his academic achievements through many awards including fellowships and induction into Pi Kappa Lambda honorary music society. Tracy serves as Coordinator of Outreach Programs at the University of Illinois School of Music, Coordinator of the Illinois Summer Youth Music Trumpet Camp, as a member of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, and as a contributor and music reviewer for the International Trumpet Guild Journal™. Prior to his appointment at the University of Illinois, Tracy served as Instructor of Trumpet and Ear Training at Illinois Central College.
